Are any of you familiar with this? http://directwebremoting.org/dwr/

DWR is a Java library that enables Java on the server and JavaScript in a browser to interact and call each other as simply as possible.

Nope, but I've heard Java has a new feature that will let anyone to
'interact' with it :) The rumor is they'll be removing that
'feature' very soon (if they haven't already).

At work I use it on an existing web app where it works well. It creates an RPC style of interacting with your Java methods. We have used it to retrofit AJAX into an app without needing to change much of our Java code.

Do you have specific questions?

More just curiosity. Have you used their feature of calling JavaScript within Java (what they call reverse ajax)?

I actually hadn't even seen that feature before.  Looks interesting.
