I am getting into the early stages of planning next years convention.
I just want to verify that most people enjoyed the 2 day format over
the single day one. If there are any suggestions or things you want to
see added removed now would be the time to let me know.

I loved the two day format, I would suggest staying with that. It also
allows people to at least make one of the days.

Yeah, I liked the 2-day format as well. I didn't feel pressured to
get all my gaming in on just one day, and like the above poster
mentioned it does lend itself to more flexbility for attendees'
schedules. Can't wait for the next one!

Enjoyed everything as is...except I'd like to see a crokinole
Tourney :)

Any early word on what weekend it will be held?

Well, Mark and I were really sad that we missed this one; I'm sure it
was fun. I have to agree with NinjaBob; a crokinole tournament would
be the bomb. I'm sure Mark and I could bring our board down, and we
have a friend who made his own board who'd probably love to show his
off, too. We could probably get enough boards to have a tournament.

I'd be more than happy to bring my board down for a Tourney. I
usually only show up for the all day Saturday event, but if it was
needed Friday evening for preliminary or anything like that, I could
make arrangements.

As we've talked about before, I'd love to find a venue that would let
us stay later than 10:00pm without charging an arm an a leg.

If it is just a matter of cost, would people be willing to pay more
for later hours?

Adamantly YES! If it is just a matter of cost, I would be willing to
pay more to stay later. I like having con.s at hotels because you can
play until the wee hours, then just stumble back to your room, sleep
for a couple of hours, and stumble back in, starting the whole
intoxicating process again:). I know a lot of you are local and don't
have to get a hotel room, but there were quite a few of us who
traveled far enough to require a room, so a hotel would be a great
option for us--and for all of you, since there's not closing time.
Just a thought. . .

I can check into hotels again. The prices a few years ago were 10-15x
what we pay up at the U. I can also check into seeing what it would
cost to extend hours at the U. I know it is available, but I don't
know how much they charge.

I have to agree with Sheila that I would pay more to be able to stay
longer. I missed last year's con, much to my chagrin, but I would
definitely enjoy longer playtime.
And I second the Crokinole tourney suggestion.

Staying later is not a high priority for me, but keeping costs down
is.

Two 10-12 hour sessions was enough for me last year--I'm not looking
to play into the wee hours.
Too bad the U is out--I wouldn't be excited about driving up to Ogden.

The University of Utah has a 200 seating capacity room available on
upper campus next to the University Guest house (The Officer's club
for those familiar with it) for $500 per day. No catering
restrictions. Just a thought. I know it's more expensive than the
Union rooms, but it seems to be lower than the $1000 fees I was seeing
elsewhere.

Cheers,
Steve
