Ryan, have you looked into the possibility of using a High School
Auditorium? It would be during the summer so school wouldn't be in
session for most high schools. I'm sure there's at least one high
school in the greater Salt Lake area that would have an auditorium
available and would be willing to rent out the space for a Friday-
Saturday event. Also, high schools typically have larger parking lots
and you wouldn't have to worry about paying for parking either.

Upon further reflection, one problem I can think of would be providing
enough tables and chairs. If it was an auditorium type situation, then
finding enough tables would be an issue.

Actually, this idea makes sense if it was possible. If we rented the
lunchroom at a high school, all of the tables and chairs would already
be in place. How big of an area do we need? I teach at a charter
high school, and I could check and see how much it would be to rent
our activity center (aka the lunchroom). This would be in Utah
County, though.

By all means check in to it. We need roughly the space for 200. I
looked at a couple of highschools, and the table issue was the
problem. I hadn't thought about the lunch room. Let me know.

Just for the sake of throwing suggestions out there...

The lunch room in Murray High School is huge and actually had a nice
"non-school-lunchroom" aesthetic quality to it (if that makes any
sense). Plus, Murray High is located right off I-15 so it would be
easy for travelers to find.

Again, I'm not sure if it's available or not. But it would be the
ideal gathering place as far as high schools go...

I have done meetings at Murray high and its a great location. Lots of
parking, right off of I15, restaurants all around and it was real
cheap when we used it. I would definately check this one out.
