Flexers,

Day 3 was a fun one. Thanks for coming out. We discussed:

- IList collections (ArrayCollection, ArrayList, XMLListCollection)
and their difference from more simple collections like arrays.
- DataProvider components (DataGroup, List, etc.)
- Item renderers
- Virtualization/renderer recycling
- Filtering and sorting a collection view.
- Scrollers

We stopped there before moving much into data loading but then we got
into library projects, swcs, project properties, etc.

----------------------

Day 4 will be November 3, 6:00pm. We'll talk about:

Loading external data through GET and POST requests.
Using AMF to serialize objects to/from a server.
Code generation tools of Flash Builder for auto-generating
ActionScript and even PHP service code (don't get your hopes up too
high)
And more!

----------------------

For those of you that have been following along, try making something
cool and come with questions. At the end of Day 3 we talked about how
to best import the test projects we use in class. I've decided to
commit project and workspace meta files so you should be able to
switch your Flash Builder workspace to the base directory with all the
projects in it and the projects should show up in the package
explorer. This is similar to how Adobe manages their Flex in a Week
series. See the readme file in the git repository for more info.
