One badly wrecked Tesla. Current bid 175 USD on copart.com

I would by it myself, but I do NOT want to drive a truck to New York to get the darn thing.

Otmar Obenhoech (inventor of the Zilla controller) bought a wrecked Tesla and is going to use the chassis to power a VW van or something like that.

I tried to see a BMW I3 when I was in California. < 2700 lbs via carbon fiber and aluminum, 50/50 weight distribution, rear wheel drive, 0 to 60 in 7.x seconds. That sounds like a car I'd love to drive! It's basically the low end Tesla for about 1/2 the price. There is a great YouTube video of one hanging with an M3 in a drag race for 1st and 2nd gear!

Wow! That tesla is pretty exciting. Bid is up to 325usd , but that is still nothing. I wish I had a place to put it. The 914 is in RV storage lot as it is. Good to hear from you guys. David how goes your 911?
regards,
Charles

There are three or four wrecked Teslas on KSL right now also. Still too expensive, but the one roadster is approaching reasonable. A wrecked leaf would also give some nice components for a conversion.

Are they so expensive it is worth advertising wrecked Teslas out-of-state? Or are Utah drivers so bad that nearly every Tesla in the state is getting destroyed?

I swear there is a conspiracy to keep me from working on my car! The oil companies are probably behind it somehow! I did manage to get my electric lawn tractor running, that has been great. Hoping to get the Porsche running again in the Mar/Apr time frame.

On a different topic, Humphries welding will give you a $10/Amp credit on a new plasma cutter. I got rid of my ancient 250 lb unreliable beast and got a 26 lb (but just as powerful) inverter plasma cutter for a steal for Christmas. BTW I kept the power cord from the old plasma cutter, it would be ~$250 to replace it! Copper is bleep expensive anymore.
