December is turning out to be a fantastic month to begin, or continue, a P12 series.
I plan to ride route #01912 - Great Saltair Legacy this Sunday Dec 14, starting at 9:00AM at the Maverik in NSL on Redwood.
All are welcome to join, please register ahead of time, instructions here: https://rusa.org/pages/permanents
and Perm rules are outlined here: https://rusa.org/pages/permRiderRules

I'd like to ride this route reversed, so I can stop in to Harmons at mile 50 if I need to cool off and get a snack. Reversed route here: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/53480351

Cool off or warm up? 9 o’clock is a pretty cold start!

I plan on doing 50 miles of gravel on Thursday, locally. Gonna make hay while the sun shines.

Yeah, I don't know. If it hits 60 I might be looking for some A/C to cool off :D

I’m a “maybe” but will likely need to stop for a hot beverage!
Haha

Also a maybe. I have a holiday party Saturday night. Perhaps the ride will be an incentive to behave myself. I’ll update you later Saturday/early Sunday, Ken.

Is anyone interested in a slightly later start, say 10:00 or 10:30? It should be a few degrees warmer, but sill little chance of overheating!

Martie,
Shall we start at 10:00?

Anyone else for the late start?

Hi all--I won't make the start this morning. Might ride out to Farmington Bay this afternoon. Happy riding!

Congratulations to Amy & Steve, who completed their first P12 this weekend, and are the first Utah riders (not named Richard) to complete a P12 since 2015!

"Congratulations to Amy & Steve, who completed their first P12 this weekend, and are the first Utah riders (not named Richard) to complete a P12 since 2015!"

Congratulations to all but I have a correction. I earned my P-12 in 2017 when I still lived in Utah, some 10 years after completing an R-12 in 2006. It is hard to get those year-round awards in a Utah climate so great job!

Congrats you two! Were most of those rides on the tandem?

I never made P-12 a priority so I never completed a set of them, but I managed to eeek out ten R-12s. I guess that is called the Ultra R-12 or something.

So that places Lonnie as the first Utahan to complete the P-12, right?

I believe the first person (in our region) to finish an R-12 was Daniel Tuchyner. As well as the first to K-hound (that is at least 10,000 km of RUSA "miles" in one year).

Ken, it seems there was a page on the SLR site that had some "firsts" listed, but I don't see it now. Did it get lost in the transfer from me to you?

I think that Robert Owen was the first Utahn to get a P-12.
