Kaysville Garr Ranch 100k 8/8 7:00PM night start

Please join us on our next 100k, a night start ride to Antelope Island, starting at Barnes Park in Kaysville. Meet at 6:30 for a 7:00PM start at 950 W 200 N in the south parking lot.

This ride requires night gear, so please bring your reflective vest, ankle straps, head and tail lights.

Important info for this ride:

NOTICE: The Visitor Center is currently closed for construction and renovation. Temporary Visitor Information and gifts located at the Antelope Island Marina, to the right as you approach the island.

Due to construction of the new visitor center, there is currently no water available on the Island.

Oh, I just saw the ride description note that you can fill up water in the sinks at the tollbooth restrooms before going out to the island. Do we know how late the restrooms are open?

I’m not certain what the temporary visitor center hours are, but they do have water for sale. There are some stores just before the causeway.

Ken knows many more rules than I, but I'm pretty sure that in this case: 

A 100k, whether signed up for via the 'permanent page' and ridden on your own, or as a brevet organized by Ken counts towards a "P-12" (note P for permanent)

Only routes between 100-199k count towards a P-12.

Would have to be 200k or longer to count towards an R-12.

Hopefully that makes sense (and is accurate :-)

Yes Hoyt, this will count towards a P12. The guidelines state:

Events that count toward the P-12 Award are:

• Any populaire (100km - 199km) on the RUSA calendar.

I ran out last time on the island & had to beg water from a car. Filled up next to last time gas station. Would advise 3 bottles even though it will be cooler tonight.

Ahhh I'm still getting organized after getting home and didn't realize this was tonight. I would love to see more night start rides as my lungs recover. I think the cool night air is better for them.

Missing you zany folks and hoping to see you soon. Maybe I'll do a makeup ride next week, even though it won't be for rusa points 😆🙃

I'm fact, is anyone up for some nighttime MTB in PC? Could be this weekend or next week. I'm still recovering so something mellow. Message me and we'll see if we can swing it ♥️🌖 I could probably even come over to the front side if I needed to.
