Lots of progress in our region. Four 1200K finishers. Nice! No P-12s yet?

The mileage award for 40,000 km (roughly the diameter around the earth) is called the Mondial Award (see attached sample). Years ago, I didn't even know about it, but this very heavy package just showed up in the mail one day! I was just doing a lot of training rides as RUSA events and earned it. I have earned two of those now, and if I get to 100,000km (I have ~ 9,000km left), I qualify for the Galaxy Award, another trinket or crystal thingy!

Very cool! Welcome to the family all the first timers.

There are many flavors of bicycle riding one can do, and I think you should try all of them, but Amy and I continue taking part in randonneuring as it's been exposing us to routes and folks that we'd never otherwise experience. It's been great meeting so many of you.

And remember, winter is NOT the time NOT to ride your bike. Amy and I plan to complete ride #10 of our first P-12 attempt on 26OCT. Reach out if you're interested in starting, or continuing, your P-12 with the very flat route #1912 :-)

Ok Steve, I'll bite: when IS the time NOT to ride your bike?
I just checked, I've finished 8 months of P12, so I just have November, then the 3 Hard Months left :D

Still trying to figure that out, Ken ;-) Let me know if you find an appropriate time. Woo hoo!
