A while back I shared some links to routes (100-109km) with lots of climbing, here in Utah. Since then I have fiddled with RWGPS on some new possible routes.
Here's is what is available (some are perms and some are populaires):
Are there any other 100K climbing routes in Utah that I have overlooked? Can someone create one with more climbing than my Double Nebo route that has services along the way?

Great routes Richard. I miss riding with everyone as I now live out of state.

A list of the hardest climbs in Utah is a good place to start looking for hardest 100K climbing routes https://pjammcycling.com/zone/59.The-Hardest-Bike-Climbs-in-Utah At one point I was checking these off my list and I believe I did 7 of the top 10. This page used to have a Top 20 list, but you can find them on the map now.

Big Cottonwood Canyon to Guardsman Pass Overlook then back down and over to Little Cottonwood Canyon up to end of the road past Alta is almost exactly 100k and about 7635 ft. This is a good amount of vert, beautiful climbs without just repeating a climb. Gas station at the bottom of Big Cottonwood and water/restrooms at the ski resorts.

12k+ vert – start at Mount Timpanogos Park (restrooms/water) parking lot then do Squaw/Kyhv peak 7x is 102.3 km and 12,381 vert by my calculations. I’ve done this peak 4x in a ride before https://www.strava.com/activities/2466436142/segments/62105635792.

Fastest 2x was 1:45:35 https://www.strava.com/activities/4239289041/segments/2755247210563483934 so 7x at that pace would be about 6:10. Sub 7 hours is doable, but 12,381 vert in 7 hours would be impressive. I usually would stash water bottles and food at the bottom and just have enough on me for each climb, but the park is only .8mi away so you could do a restroom/water break in the middle of the 7x.

From Liberty Park to Guardsman Pass and back is about 62 miles and 6700 feet of climbing. There’s water at the base of the canyon, more at Spruces Campground, and services at Brighton.

Hey Royal,

What does the pjamm site use as his basis for "hardest?" Repeats are disallowed under RUSA rules however. I am not using the steepest grade as my critium but only total vert within a given distance for a ~ 100km (though the climb out of Midway up to Guardsman is one of the worst).

https://pjammcycling.com/blog/50.pjamm-difficulty-index explains their calculation for grading climbs.

Interesting on the repeats, but I agree most people would rather experience new terrain than go up and down like I find myself doing.

Midway up to Guardsman, Guardsman from Park City and  Powder Mountain were all super steep. I still remember my front wheel coming off the ground going up Guardsman from Midway and thinking, “wait, I’m on my road bike, not my mountain bike.” Never experienced a climb that steep on a road bike before.

Nice! Very similar to my local Scofield route, though it only has services and/or potable water at the turnaround.

Byron W., who lives there in Heber City, frequents the Pine Canyon Road out of Midway.
