Hey just a heads up.

I ride that area often - at least one problem of note.

14600 s westbound is closed at the roundabout at 1000 w (mile 37.1 on Ken's route).  It closed early this spring for the redo of the old one lane underpass of the railroad bridge at around 1100w.  Major deal - it is closed for a few years. 

Best two options:

1. Detour s off 14600 s starting at 855 w (37.0) to Porter Rockwell Blvd. and pick up the JRT there.  Add around 4+ miles.
2. Detour n off 14600 s just w of the freeway on w side I-15 frontage road (36.2) past old prison site, follow north then west to Bangerter hwy underpass at 600 w, then left on Vista Station Blvd.  From there after you finally cross the railroad track there are a couple access points on the left to JRT bringing you into Ken's route at around the 40 mile mark.  This will likely make the route a couple miles shorter.

Also, for similar mileage most cyclists avoid the busy left turn at Draper Parkway/1300 intersection (30.6), and the busy roundabout and railroad crossing just past it at Pioneer Road (30.8) and use the cyclist/pedestrian only "hole in the wall" left turn off 1700 e (30.1) to Relation Street and past the famous Zebra house (yes, there's a live zebra in the backyard) where you then pick up the route again at Porter Rockwell Trail.

Bart, did you end up riding this route?

Yes, I rode the route on Saturday, and it was fabulous! The was a little bit of construction-related rerouting in Draper, based on a revised map Ken sent out, and I crossed from JRPT to Liberty Park on 900 S instead of 1700 S (I feel safer on that street, although it added a little distance). Also, I started and finished from my house, which added about a mile on each end. There was some flooding on the JRPT, although one was just an inch or two, so I rode through it just, but another was at least 16" deep and I rode through that, too, which wasn't very smart. (My generator hub, bottom bracket, chain, and electronic derailleur were all completely submerged, as well as my feet and legs about half way up the shins. I had to pull water weeds out of my derailleur, but otherwise everything seemed to have survived.) That was obviously a problem due to the rain that day and not to the route itself.

It's a wonderful route. When the construction gets finished, it will be even better!
