Hey everyone,

Fyrecon is adding a Video Game Development track for the third annual conference this June. You can find more information at http://fyrecon.com/

While we'd love to see everyone there attending, we also need qualified presenters willing to give an hour-long class or a 2-3 hour long workshop, particularly related to programming, video game art, game design, and business/marketing. Any crossover topics that might be of interest to traditional-media artists and writers would be an extra bonus. What we're hoping for is something that will turn into a "mini-GDC" here in Utah.

What does "qualified" mean? Generally speaking, if you have worked in the industry for a while, or shipped an indie game, that'd count, but equivalent experience in a related field could count as well.

What kind of topics? Look at the sort of things that have been on the schedule at GDC and similar events. Look at what we've had at Indie Night, or at places like the Utah Unity User's Group (to name a few). We're looking for topics for beginners, intermediate, and advanced. We're also looking at having two or three "round tables" with around industry experts and small audience to chat about particular topics.

Want to teach people how to better design VR games? Best practices for using the Unity Profiler for optimization? An introductory class on creating bone-based animation in Blender? Things that are more specific are preferred, especially for the more advanced levels.

If you are interested, you can sign up as a potential presenter here:

You can submit classes here:

Your class submissions will likely be in the "game dev wave."

Thanks!

Jay Barnson
