Ahhhh, Yet a new standard for E-comms... Sounds interesting, but we’d need a Grant!

    The group is moderated.

The Universal Digital Radio is a combination of a 25 watt uhf transceiver
and an embedded ARM based computer server (Linux) to support amateur radio
digital protocols for applications such as Emergency Communications; Radio
Mail Server, APRS, D-STAR Voice and Data, as well as experimenters and DIY
enthusiasts who wish to build new protocols and applications.

Just to clarify:

The UDR56K implements current protocols (AX.25, RMS [for Winlink], APRS, D-STAR DV/DD) on an open platform.  I'm not sure what "new standard for E-comms" is being referred to?  Since it is open, new standards and protocols will emerge, but they just become added applications on the radio.

You might want to check the price :)
