Possible Change of Date for Senate Meeting
The date of the Senate meeting originally scheduled for December 14th
has been changed to Monday, December 7th. Members will be notified
by mail. If you have any questions please call Bruce Ferguson

Staff Christmas Party
Faculty, Administrative Staff, Members of the Service Employees Union,
Porters and Portresses and spouses or partners are invited to attend
the annual Christmas Party on Friday, December 11 at 3:00 p.m. in the
Combination Room.
Christmas Holidays
The following instructions are directed to all persons resident in
Trinity or St. Hilda's Colleges for any period of time between 5:00
p.m. on Tuesday, December 22nd, 1998 and 12:01 p.m. on Monday,
January 4th, 1999.
TRINITY COLLEGE RESIDENCE
1. One security officer will be on duty throughout the period and
will monitor emergency calls placed to 978-2522. When not engaged
in rounds, he will be located in the Porter's Lodge, and may answer
regular incoming calls, unless otherwise occupied.
2. If the fire alarm sounds, get out of the building, and do not
return until the security officer or the Fire Department indicates
that it is safe to do so.
3. The only access to the College will be by way of the Night
Entrance beside the main entrance, which leads through the Porter's
Lodge. This entrance will be open when the security officer is in
attendance. When he is on rounds, there will be no access to the
building, unless you have a key to the North or West entrance doors.
All other doors will be locked.
GERALD LARKIN ACADEMIC BUILDING
1. There will be no one on regular duty anywhere in the building.
The security officer will make periodic rounds, and can be reached,
in case of emergency, at 978-2522.
2. If the fire alarm sounds, get out of the building, and do not
return until the security officer or the Fire Department indicates
that it is safe to do so.
3. Please use the North door facing the parking lot for access to
the building. 4. PLEASE NOTE: The heat will be reduced in the
Larkin Building during the Christmas Holiday period. If you plan to
work in the building, dress warmly!
ST. HILDA'S COLLEGE
1. There will be no staff member on regular duty anywhere in the
building. The security officer will make periodic rounds, and can

National Day of Remembrance & Action on Violence Against Women
This year will mark the ninth anniversary of the murder of the
fourteen women at l'Ecole Polytechnique. A ceremony will be held in
the East Common Room, Hart House, on Friday, December 4 at 12:15 p.m.
to commemorate this tragic event, and to focus attention on the issue
of violence against women and on the need for change and action.
Recycling Toner Cartridges
The Bursar's Office accepts used Hewlett Packard Laser Jet printer
cartridges for recycling. Contact Marty Hilliard (978-2523) for
further information. Patrick Cassidy and Associates accept all other
makes of cartridges. For pick-up call John at (905) 427-3040.
1999 Awards of Excellence
The University of Toronto Alumni Association invites nominations for
the Faculty Award, the Chancellor's Award, the Joan E. Foley Quality
of Student Experience Award and the Ludwig and Estelle Jus Memorial
Human Rights Prize. Nomination and application deadline is Friday,
December 4, 1998 at 5 p.m. Further information is available from the
