Round Gobies: re-engineering the Great Lakes Aquatic Ecosystem
Dr. Timothy B. Johnson
Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources Lake Erie Fisheries Station,
Wheatley, Ontario

PLACE: Ramsay Wright Zoological Laboratories, 25 Harbord Street,
Seminar Room 432
TIME: Tuesday, October 11, 2005 at 4:30 PM

Abstract: Dreissenid mussels and round goby fish are two groups of aquatic
invasive organisms that have entered the Great Lakes ecosystem and have
profoundly altered the flow of energy, contaminants, and nutrients. I will
summarize a series of laboratory, field, and modeling studies designed to
quantify these material flows to aid management and policy makers in
understanding the probable future state of the Great Lakes fishery
resources.

All students, faculty, and members of the general public are welcome.
