University of Toronto or York University, whereas the "other"
universities (e.g., MIT, Manitoba, ...) have already shown much
enthusiasm.

McGill Invitational Inter University Cricket Tournament
On behalf of the McGill University Cricket Club, Montreal, we would
like to extend an invitation to all North American Universities to participate
in the first McGill Annual Inter University Cricket Tournament. This week long
festival of cricket will be held from the 24th to the 29th of May 93, in
Montreal, the "Paris of North America", and aims to revive the traditions of
cricket between universities in North America.
The competition will consist of 8 teams pooled into two groups. A round
robin format, much like the world cup format, will be followed within each
group will advance to the semifinals. Details of the rules and regulations
governing the tournament will be enclosed within the application package. The
round robin games will be 25 overs, the semifinals 30 overs and the finals 35
overs. Teams will be required to bring their own cricket equipment. MAtch balls
will be provided by the tournament organisers. All participants are required to
be either registered students or staff of the University that they will be
representing.
We will be accepting request for applications and further information
from all interested school. Admittance will be on a first-come-first-serve
basis, so we encourage teams to apply early, to avoid disappointment. The
deadline for receipt of completed applications is the 30th of April 93. The
entrance fee for each team is US $ 80 (CAN $ 100). Teams that have been
accepted will be notified by the 1st of May.
Requests for applications, information and concerns regarding the
format of the tournament is encouraged. Please feel free to contact any of
