how do we know if we're right?

since there's no test cases or anything, how do we know that our result is
right, personally i've been getting funny results for even a 4x4 board,
with no player (p0) white wins by a score of 13-2, but if i play for
black, i can win 9-7. can anyone please tell me what's wrong?

ps there doesn't seem to be any difference for various depth levels above
3 for a 4x4 board
