The Southwest Airlines boarding process is different from most other airlines and is pretty straightforward. Instead of assigned seats, you get a boarding group (A, B, or C) and a number when you check in. This tells you when to line up at the gate. The sooner you check in, the better your spot in line. Once you board, you can sit in any open seat you like. Families with young kids and people who need help get to board early. Business Select passengers and frequent flyers also get priority. It’s a first-come, first-served system that gives you some flexibility.
