Collegiate sailors, formerly collegiate sailors and future collegiate
sailors-

The Charles River Open will be held on May 21 and 22 this year. It is
expected to be a team race sailapalooza with many collegiate team racers
taking advantage of high end, non-stop team racing all day, both days. As
many of you are aware, the MIT fixed dock system will be renewed and
supplemented with floating docks this summer and the renewal process will
include an additional fleet of 20 Firefly dinghies arriving  as well. The
construction of the dock will impact our summer sailing programs so we
thought it would be best to make the Charles River Open happen sooner rather
than later.

Please read the notice of race for details and remember that your entire
team will need to complete registration. Registration will be stopped after
the first 24 teams have completed the process. It will only reopen in
multiples of 6 teams in order to streamline the racing and rotations. Only
Harvard and MIT FJs will be used this year- no 420s. The price has been
reduced and there is a significantly lower entry fee for boats with current
undergrads or high school students.

Please accept our apologies for the late regatta notice but it is better to
be held in May rather than not at all. Please let us know if you are having
any problems with the registration process. Looking forward to seeing
everyone back on the rivah chuck! Spread the word......
