USS San Francisco veterans

If you are a veteran, or family member, or friend of a USS San
Francisco crew member (the C-5, the CA-38 or the SSN-711), please tell
us about that special person who served [name of the veteran, the ship
# from the three above, dates of service, anything you can remember
about their service, sea stories they told you, and what made that
person special to you]

Also if you are a veteran of one of the ships, tell us about your best
friend(s) during your service. Tell us about the men you knew that
are no longer with us, so they can be remembered.

Feel free to convey other information not listed above. The forum
would like to "take a stand for history," and document valuable
history, before it's lost to time. The C-5 and CA-38 have been
scrapped, but the valuable service they provided will live on in the
annals of American History, and this forum will help to capture some
of that historically significant information.
