   *** USS Odyssey / Engineering ***

:: Having moved the detached and scorched section taken from the shuttle craft to main engineering, V'Lenn set about some further examination, there was just something unusual about what she had been investigating and her Vulcan curiosity would not be satisfied until she learned all the facts.  Some of the readings were very distantly like the Breen energy weapon, yet very different in other ways.  In any event she knew that the Breen were in to way involved with what had happened to the shuttle, it was something else that bore a vague resemblance ... but what? ::

Ensign Cutler, a young Engineering officer approached and took a look at what V'Lenn was doing.  So far as he could tell, the section of shuttlecraft was inert and without any need of an investigation.

Cutler: Commander, just what do you think you will find?

V'Lenn: I expect nothing, I am merely investigating in order to establish all the facts about what happened to this shuttlecraft.

Cutler: Well, I think your wasting your time, if you don't mind my saying so.

:: Cutler pointed toward a prototype robot, partly assembled on a workbench nearby. ::

Cutler: Now this, Mister Day and I have been working on a robotic repairman, for areas that might be too hazardous to send in a real person.  We've made a lot of progress and are almost done.

V'Lenn:  The project sounds promising, please keep me informed of its progress.

:: V'Lenn and Cutler turned away, both walking toward the exit, she would resume her seemingly pointless investigation later.  Right now she needed to report to the bridge for her duty shift.

:: Once she and Cutler had left, and the Engineering section was empty of personnel, a strange blue light appeared within the shuttle section.  It traveled from the section, through the air and into the prototype robot Cutler was building.  From that point it would only increase in power and evil.
