*** Base Security Office ***
Gavin: ; showing his credentials:: I’m turning Ms. Silva over to you with a recommendation for arrest. While traveling on the USS Odyssey, Ms. Silva’s communications with a Visigoth ship were intercepted. When she left the ship, Commander Anthony Clifton and I followed her in a shuttle and discovered that she was, indeed, making a rendezvous with a Visigoth vessel. We intervened and examination of her documents showed several that are highly classified, weel above her security clearance level.
:: The officer looked quite surprised, then composed himself. ::
Security Officer: Uh ... very well, I can put her under guard until I inform my superior officer. Are those the documents, in that case?
Gavin: I am turning them over in a securely locked diplomatic carrying case. Any attempt to tamper with it will immediately be monitored by UFOP Diplomatic Security Division. We will have to have one of their high ranking security officers here for it to be opened at all. I couldna make copies since it was an eyes only document of my security level.
Security Officer: Understood, sir. I'll see that no one touches that case.
Gavin: I request that ye keep her in custody until Commander Clifton can come an deal with the legalities. He is currently meeting with the chief of Security. Ye may page me when and if my presence is needed. :: He showed him his diplomatic pager information, then turned to leave. Before he did so, he looked at Silva, who was still far to smug for his liking.:: I willna say I wish ye well Ms Silva; ye’re a traitor, plain and simple.
Silva: I am innocent, and I haven't done anything.
::Ignoring he, Gavin left the office and headed to the Diplomatic section and entered, showing his identification to the guard there::
Guard: standing straighter: Ambassador MacLaren, I had no notification that you were visiting the base. Welcome, sir. Will you need accommodations for your stay?
Gavin: I’m nae certain yet how long I’ll be here. I will let you know as soon as possible. Has it been busy lately?
Guard:: wrinkling up his nose:: Not exactly busy, no conferences or workshops as you likely know, but maybe more individual visits like this one than usual.
Gavin: smiling: Weel, maybe it’s just a coincidence. I think I’ll go have a drink and see if I see anyone I ken. The synthahol on the starship just isna the same a good single malt.
Guard: Indeed not, sir. You enjoy yourself.
::Gavin went into the bar and did see a few men he knew. He ordered a drink and walked over to their table.::
Gavin: Mind if I join ye?
UFOP Liason officer Nelson: Gavin! Nice surprise. What brings you here? I thought you were off traveling in a starship.
Gavin: sitting down:: I am. But we had a bit of a detour. We had to escort Senator Silva on a trip of hers that brought us close to the base.
::Nelson and the other diplomat exchanged glances::
Nelson: You’re keeping bad company then, Gavin. There are rumors, not good ones.
Gavin:: Nodding:: Aye, I’ve heard some, D’ye think they’re true?
Nelson; I don’t know. They’re persistent, but so far there doesn’t seem to be interest by the Security Division. I’m not sure they are interested in much of anything except harassing the occasional staffer or sailor whose had too much to drink at one of the bars.
Gavin: Hmm, I guess I’ll have to stick to one.
::The others laughed since MacLaren had an impeccable reputation for sobriety for all he enjoyed a good quality whiskey or scotch.
:: As the men enjoyed their drinks, one of your young waitresses walked by and placed a note near MacLaren's left elbow. ::
Waitress: Your friend over there asked me to give this to you.

:: She looked across the room and the middle-aged Terran was nowhere to be seen. ::
Waitress: He was right over there, a man about your age. I don't know where he got to.
Tag: Gavin
NOTE: Meet me in level 86. One hour. Come alone.
