Takahashi melted into the darkness, took advantage of the cover and confusion, and moved around behind a Breen guard. Hand to hand combat wasnt what the Breen were best at, and he had one disabled before the disruptor could be turned against him. It felt good to be in real combat again not that he was an adrenaline junkie, but fighting for a cause rather than the glory meant more to him.

[Kurowsa]

The floor and walls seemed to rumble as the battle outside heated up, or, Mac thought, it could just be the wild beating of her heart. What had taken seconds, felt like minutes to her. One target remained behind the hostages, his helmet masking his features, as all Breen did. Even with the blanketing darkness, their visors made the room seem as bright as day. The last Breen held his disruptor to the head of Klingon. In Macs opinion, it was stupid of him, because every Klingon she knew would sacrifice himself in a situation like that.

The Klingons eyes stared fixedly at her, and Macs eyes met his through the visor. He nodded imperceptibly, and the corners of Macs mouth twitched into a smile. Her eyes slid to the Breen then she inhaled and gently squeezed the trigger. The burst of energy sizzled millimeters past the Klingons temple to hit the Breen right between the eyes. It blew him backwards and jerked the Klingon off his feet, but at least he was alive.

Takahashi Kurowsa, get them on their feet and ready for transport, Mac keyed her comm link. Syvek Orion, were bringing the hostages out. Is the area secured? She waited a frustrating moment before stepping into the antechamber for better reception. Syvek? Orion? she shouted.

Give me just a sec Orion realized that this was no time to enjoy the fight so he would have to wait until later for a good scrap, pulled out one of the D'k tahg from his belt and threw it into the neck of the recovering Breen. All Clear he responded as he walked over to retrieve his blade and wiped it off, before looking back to Syvek.

Ready for a drink?

The Vulcan, scratched, bruised and filthy, glanced back towards the well. "I'd prefer salt tablets, right now," he assured.

Takahashi burst out laughing at Orions offhanded remark, which was made worse by Macs hilarious confused expression. It made it difficult to bandage scan the hostages for bombs or other forms of sabotage. The medical scans showed them all to be in pretty beat up condition, but nothing that would prevent them from transporting or beaming them.

Give me a sec? Mac shook her head to clear it, giving Niko a scathing glance. Impudent bunch of . . . she muttered under her breath, Orion! Were coming out with the hostages. Both of you on your toes!

The area was hot, no sooner did Merak pop the gryphon out from the trench that he was flying down did the area over the temple erupt in disruptor fire. He was having his hands full trying to avoid the fire. Sure the shield on the Gryphon could handle a few hit but this like Falcon was a new class of runabout and he did not want to rick anything more than he had to. Of course the fact that Emma was onboard was also forefront on his mind.

Merak popped the nose of Gryphon over the outer wall of the temple and looked for a place to set down. What he saw was not good. The Breen where setting up and defensive line between the nearest area he could land and the temple. Merak tapped a button on his console.

Conway, the Breen are setting up some sort of trap for the team. Get down there and clear a path. Merak ordered.

//Looks like someones already on it sir.//

Merak didnt know what the hell Conway was talking about. There was no one else up flying around the temple. The closest warship was still several hours away and there was no fighter support on the planet. Unless, Merak rolled Gryphon over on it left side as it passes back over the LZ and spots a group of men cutting a bloody path thru the Breen. Merak let out a full belly laugh at the site.

Ill be a son of a Merak said

Emmas head whipped around to scowl at her dad. Uh oh, youve got to put credits in the Swear Jar! She propped her hands on her hips and pursed her lips. If Im not allowed to say those words, youre not either.

Looks like your Uncle harder to kill then the Breen thought. Merak told her pointing down to about eight Klingons rushing into the courtyard some firing their weapons others using their Batliths and daggers killing the Breen as they went.

Emma struggled with the straps in the chair then jumped to her feet to look out the window where Merak was pointing. She smiled and exchanged a delighted glance with Merak. Miss Gaby will be so happy, she whispered then shouted, woohoo! Go get em!

Merak just chuckled at her comment. Dghor and his men were able to clear a big enough area for him to set down Gryphon. Merak was happy for this because he knew that the Klingons and the team where going to need all the help they could get.

Sergeant, get your boys ready. Merak told the Marine.

Were on it sir. Ronn said and headed to the back. Alright Marines where going hot, if it Breen kill it. Lets make the Captain proud. Ronn told the marines in the back.

Merak could hear the Marines in the back answer Nabhelk with a who rah. Merak just shook his head, brought the Gryphon over the LZ, and brought it down dropping the ramp. The Marines where already up and running out the Gryphon firing at anything that looked or walked like a Breen. For Merak he stayed on Gryphon picking up a phaser rifle. He wanted to be out there with them but he was not going to Emma here alone.

Emma you stay down and dont leave my site understood. Merak told her, then tapped his comm badge. Falcon One to Archangel leader. Gryphon is on the ground so get the blonde ass of yours moving.

Merak, Mac gasped silently. Where? she asked and held the rifle at her waist as they exited the antechamber and met up with Orion and a dirty and disheveled Syvek. The Vulcan looked like hed been crawling around in a cave somewhere, or maybe archeologists always managed to look that way.

[Merak]

Were making our way down the stairs now, but it appears we have a welcoming team between us and the Gryphon. I think theyve taken this personally, she knelt and fired off two quick shots at a Breen whod made a run up the stairs. The humidity had become oppressive, making it difficult to breath, and physical exertion only made it worse. In the corner of her eye, Mac saw the Gryphon, sitting in the middle of the field. A curse shouted in Klingon made her whip around towards the bottom of the stairs.

South side of the temple, in the courtyard. Merak told Mac over the comm.

Merak moved to the ramp leading out of the Gryphon to stand guard. He would have much prefer to be in there with the Marines but with Emma on the ship, he was not going to leave her alone unprotected. They were going to have a long talk about this when they got back to the ship.

A curse shouted in Klingon made her whip around towards the bottom of the stairs.

ghuy' Dghor grunted as a Breen soldier slammed into his already cut arm.

Taking his Batleth Dghor makes quick work of the Breen that attacked him then throwing him over the railing down the stairwell. Dghor waves to the rest of his men to move forward killing every Breen that was between him and the Archangel team at the top of the steps.

Get those people moving Lt Commander! Dghor shouted over the battle in the stairwell. The men and I will clear the path, these Breen have a lot to pay for the destruction of my ship Dghor told her.

True to his word, the last of the Vorn crew was cutting a bloody path for the Archangel team to bring the hostages down. Outside the temple, the Marines that Merak brought down with Gryphon where laying down heavy fire to anything that looks walked and acted like a Breen. Surprisingly with how out number they where only a few of the Marines where hit and most of them not bad enough to keep from fighting.
