Inthe following few days, I would like to proper setup my printer. It is a Xerox WorkCentre 6515DN and I have already added three printers: CUPS, CUPS-PDF, and WC6515 to Settings > Printers. When I added this WorkCentre to Fedora35, its driver was automatically found. It is the Xerox WorkCentre 7345 - CUPS+Gutenprint v5.3.4, which is indeed not the correct driver for my WC6515, but is close enough. As in, it works good for now.

On WC6515, although I can printer just fine with Fedora35 on this WC6515, I would like to scan directly from my WC6515 to my Fedora35. In order to do so, this printer has three options below. Which of these three do you advice? And how would you setup a scanner the proper way?

Thanks and done. Although this Xerox is recognised as a printer without a driver, but from the database as Xerox WorkCentre 7345 - CUPS+Gutenprint v5.3.4, the app Document Scanner recognise only my webcam.

I just removed the printer, but I guess that what you mean. Running dnf info guten* shows that the rpm package gutenprint-5.3.4-8.fc35.src.rpm is installed. Shall I remove this one too, or leave it like it is?

If the printer is USB connected then this might be related to an earlier issue with a package ipp-usb which was installed by an update some few months past. Basically with that package installed it broke printing using proprietary drivers, but only affected those using USB.

Thus $ lpadmin -x WorkCentre-6515 does not do this job? When I do a simple Ecosia search with uninstall printer Gutenprinter Fedora I get only Apple solutions. Thus how do I unistall the Gutenprint driver of this Xerox? The official driver will be easier to remove, or is re-install also a solution?

Exams are done, and it is almost July. Thus it is time to learn F36. I have already reinstalled F36, to swith easier from Gnome to KDE. On this clean install I have just run my install script, without installing Xerox, neither with Gutenprinter, nor with Xerox RPM.

Sorry for delay. I have done some research and it appears this is not very straight forward and clear to setup your xerox machine.I tried to get support from Xerox on this and still waiting. I will keep trying. I am confident with Epson, Brother and some Canons, Xerox is a new one for me.

Btw, according to this thread on Xerox Support forum Linux driver for WorkCentre 6515DN MFP is fubar'd - Customer Support Forum I have to add a few lines to this ppd file of Xerox Generic PPD - WorkCentre 6515 - Xerox. Is it worth a shot?

Hello, First, I know the title suggest this being a printing problem, however, not a printing problem yet. This is going to be another long and wordy post. :C Here is the thing. I have used in the past linux Xerox drivers with Fedora and other...

As my Xerox WorkCentre 6515 do respond to a printer job, it does not so for a scanner job. Therefore, the communication between my F36 and WC6515 is just to print, nothing else. Which i find pitty of course. Thus I do think that this is not a Wayland issue, as you suggest, but rather a PPD issue.

Having used and administered Xerox DocuMate scanners and OneTouch software (though not this specific model, and not with Windows 10), I can say that the order in which you install the scanner drivers and the OneTouch software is important. I imagine your upgrade to Windows 10 may have "refreshed" the drivers, thus putting things out of order and causing the whole thing to not work anymore.

Unfortunately I have a Xerox Workcentre 3025_NI multifunction printer and after installing the official driver on my Ubuntu Gnome 17.04 the scanner does not work, only the printer. Under 16.04 the printer and the scanner also work. I don't understand why.

This might be a solution for you: _workcentre_3025.html#technical-informationThey seem to be a boutique software company offering scanner solutions for Linux, MacOS, and Windows. I had a similar problem looking for a Linux solution for my Xerox Documate 510. I have not tried it yet but it appears to be the best alternative.

How do I install Fuji Xerox DocuPrint M225DW multi function Printer& Scanner to my new Macbook Pro M1. This Printer has wifi printing capabilities and I would like to wirelessly print documents from my MAcBook Pro. Any help would be greatly appreciated...

With the device networked, and powered, visit System Preferences > Printers & Scanners panel. Add your device [+], selecting the globe on the toolbar of the Add Printer panel. Enter the static IP address of the printer, and for the Protocol, choose AirPrint. Then click Add.

I did what you recommended in your email above and re-added the device(Fuji Xerox Docuprint M225 dw) on my Macbook Pro ). However the scan option is not showing up when I select the printer. refer Macbook Pro Screenshot ?

I am attaching the screenshots of my older MacBook Air where the Scan options were available. If you examine the screenshot further you will see the 2nd line Kind : Fuji Xerox Docuprint M225dw CUPS mentioned. The other 2 Printer Options have Kind : Fuji Xerox Docuprint M225dw CUPS-Airprint

You should not install the Fuji Xerox printer/scanner drivers when using AirPrint as it is supposed to provide that functionality without the vendor drivers whose installation may compromise the AirPrint capability. AirPrint should also allow you to detect and scan using Apple's included Image Capture or Preview utilities.

The below driver works on Ubuntu mate 18.04.1 only for printing.

The scanner application does not see the scanner.

On Ubuntu 14.04.5 (32 bit) the same driver worked just fine.

I tested the driver on Ubuntu mate 18.04.1 on 32 and 64 bit with firewall on AND off, but NO luck.

I installed the driver by unpaking it and right clicking on install.sh and run as administrator.

When the question about the firewall got printed in terminal, I tried with autoconfigure and with skip. I couldn't make the scanner work.

Hello Marius, i would like your assistance in setting up my Xerox Workcenter 3025, I have the same issue, i can not install the driver package for the scanner (the printer is working just fine), could you explain to me in steps what should I do.

hello, I am new in Linux, i tried to run in terminal those lines but after reboot my operating system forced me to install a fresh copy of the Linux.

Could i get in touch with you on e-mail? could i call you on phone? I am from Romania.

Thanks!

Memory mode uses the same data transfer method as previous versions of Acrobat and scans directly to the computer's memory. Native mode scans directly to the file and is more compatible with various scanners.

Change User Interface under Scanner Options from Hide Scanner's Native Interface to Show Scanner's Native Interface. Show Scanner's Native Interface uses the same scanning method as previous versions of Acrobat. It lets the scanner's driver operate the scanner. Hide Scanner's Native Interface attempts to use the Twain driver directly. It can eliminate error messages, especially when scanning multiple pieces of paper. If none of these solutions work, then it's sometimes necessary to use a workaround.

Note: Photoshop and Photoshop Elements don't always provide good results to test against. Scanner manufacturers develop software specifically for these products to reduce the likelihood of problems.

Acrobat supports Windows Image Acquisition (WIA) drivers. If your scanner supports both drivers, then select the WIA driver from the Device menu in the Create PDF From Scanner dialog box. Scan the document.

Contact the scanner manufacturer to obtain the latest driver. To reinstall the driver, delete all files and folders that begin with Twain (for example, "Twain_32.dll") in the Windows or Winnt folder. Then, restart Windows, and then install the latest scanner driver according to the manufacturer's instructions.

Some applications can cause system errors or freezes when running concurrently with Adobe Acrobat. Before starting Acrobat, disable other applications, including startup items (items that start automatically with Windows).

Scanning into Acrobat in some color modes can cause problems when using certain scanners. For instructions on scanning into Acrobat using a different color mode, see the documentation included with the scanner.
