Hello USPEX user's!

I failed to run EX13 test calculation with MatLab. This was the error:

Try `python -h' for more information.

Does anybody know how to deal with this issue?

Thank you,

Probably your Python version is not good for USPEX. What does 'python -V' say? We support only 2.* versions.

Hi Maksim,

Thank you for your respond. I was able to start EX13 by after loading python 2.7. However, I've got the following error.

This is a warning message
It indicates that you attempted to call matlab
when file still_running is still present
It would be problematic when the numParallel is on
Possible reasons:
1, The time interval to call MATLAB is too short
2, MATLAB exits with error

Do you know the origin of this problem?

Set interval between USPEX runs to 300 or 600 seconds. Should help.

Please see the related information in the manual: http://han.ess.sunysb.edu/uspex_manual/faq10.html. If you use shell script, set the interval after "sleep" (in seconds). If you use crontab, change this line: "*/5 * * * * sh call_job".

Maksim,

I am a little bit confused!

I am trying to run EX13 following instructions from the manual.

>> mkdir EX13
>> cd EX13
>> USPEX -c 13
>> USPEX -r

This example does not need any external code. Why do we need to set interval between USPEX runs and why EX13 does not work?

I have the same problem. Even setting 300 seconds of sleep time did not work.

Which version of USPEX are you using?
Did you specify correct environmental variables?

What I see is that you are running USPEX most likely using "matlab < USPEX.m" while you don't have any of its sources.

You need to provide more information.
