I used off brand 32GB cards when I first started with my cams because that was the then current GB limitation of the cams and I am cheap. I quickly learned that you get what you pay for and High Endurance was important as all my original SD cards failed in the first year. I then purchased High Endurance 32GB cards, all of which are still operational when I removed them. I recently upgraded to all 256GB High Endurance Cards. There are users currently using larger cards (512GB, 1TB), however I have not yet seen any performance test results.
The SD standards represent a timeline of the evolution of SD cards, with newer cards allowing higher capacities and speeds. SDUC was announced in June 2018 and it will be a while before the SDUC cards are available and widely adopted in the industry. Hardware devices that host the memory cards are backward compatible, meaning you can use older standard memory cards in devices that support newer standards like SDXC.
Screenshots and captured gameplay videos can be moved from the system memory to a microSD card, and vice versa. Downloadable software cannot. If you want to free up space on the system memory, simply delete any saved software, and redownload it from the Nintendo eShop while a microSD card is inserted in the console.
i just found out about this probleme , this is so weird like even cheap 10$ camera can do that , i dont know why u cant read the sd card , i will contact support later at least they need to give us an option
I discovered how to download from SD card, its clumsy but seems to work
In the playback screen
1 place timeline marker where you want to begin download
2 tap the record button
3 increase the speed to 16x
Its a very clumsy method but seems to work

Hi everyone, I have just bought an EOS 850d.
Playing about with it today to try and get used to settings etc, took a few photos and wanted to view them on my PC. I used a micro sd card plugged into an sd card adaptor, card is correct spec etc. Photos show on camera as on card but when I plug the card in to my PC it doesn't show the drive being plugged in. I thought it might be an issue with card reader but it recognised the sd card I put in from my drone.
You should be using a full-size SD card and not a micro SD card with an adaptor. They are known to cause problems in the camera. If you have picture files on the card, I would try another card reader and cable. I highly recommend getting a full-size SD card and not using the micro SD card for your camera.
You could connect the camera to your computer with a USB data cable to try to transfer the files in the camera memory card to your computer. After getting them off the card, don't use the micro card for the camera.
I transfer photos with a standard SD card to Explorer. It takes a couple of extra steps as opposed to W10. I load directly by inserting the card into a slot on my laptop. I used a card reader but eliminating that one extra thing would be better.
No, a micro-SD card with an adaptor is not supported in any Canon DSLRs. The User Guide is quite specific in stating SD, SDHC, and SDXC. The micro-SD card types are not listed and are completely different card type.
Only use full size cards that you have bought from a factory authorized Canon dealer. These vendors are 100% reputable, unlike most of the vendors that you may encounter in online marketplaces like Amazon and eBay. Always be sure to format memory cards in the camera prior to first use.
The SD Association came up with a way to standardise the speed ratings for memory cards. They are known as Speed Classes and refer to the absolute minimum sustained write speed for both SD and microSD cards. There are three types of speed class:
The UHS Speed Class is more commonly used nowadays than the Speed Class and many high-end cameras require at least a U3-rated memory card for many of its functions, such as recording high-resolution videos. The UHS Speed Class mainly refers to the minimum sustained write performance for recording videos and came about due to 4K-capable video recording devices needing faster write speeds. As a rule of thumb, 4K-capable recording cameras will usually require at least a U3-rated SD card.
When I had my P1P before moving to the X1C, I used a free FTP to access my P1P memory card, I could move, delete and copy files directly to the micro sd in the printer, you will need the IP address of the printer and the password on the P1P/P1S screen
Prior to this year, I hadn't had any device that used Micro SD in like 15, 20 years, but within 2023, I have purchased three Micro SD cards for sound recorders. Currently I am sticking with SanDisk: 2 x 32G and 1 x 256G, and they are all fine so far. Western Digital purchased SanDisk back in 2016 so that they are not quite the same company as they were 10, 20 years ago, prior to 2016.
I have had zero problems with Scandisk over the years or even since they have been bought out. For my z7ii I use a Sony CFE ExpressB and UHSII as the back up. For the ZF I bought a Scandisk 128gb 300mps it was on sale at B&H for about 100 bucks and a Scandisk 128gb UHSI 85mbs 13 bucks at B&H. I will likely just use the micro SD (they are so small and hard to handle) as primarily a back up or overflow to the UHSII card. I also use a similar Micro card for my Mavic Pro Drone and it works great.
I'd probably stick with Sandisk for SD cards myself. I've never used Delkin, although I have used some of the SAmsung Pro and Evo cards (never had issues). I've never had a Sandisk card fail (other than a failure caused by me but never due to defects).
My guess is that as long as you stick with a name-branded SD/micro SD card, you're probably fine. CFE and XQD cards seem to be a bit more specific in some cases with some cameras so brand/model may matter more there but this is irrelevant for the Zf.
Other than using the micro SD for a back up does anyone feel that they will be removing it regularly. I have to say it was not convenient to get that little sucker in the card slot. They really are micro LOL
The link is to an external SSD. What does this have to do with micro SD cards? I have and continue to use SanDisk CFx-B for cameras and micro SD for audio recorders and drones, and this particular SSD for transporting (not working off of) files to freelance clients.
Only that the technology employed is pretty similar. I got burned by one of their SSDs that prematurely failed on me. That is enough incentive for me to switch brands. I haven't discarded my older SanDisk memory cards and continue to use them with no issues.
Ah I see, makes sense. Would you say having the option of SD UHS-II and micro SD UHS-I is still better than just one CFexpress card? I heard the issue with overheating is often the card not fast enough and when you have dual card slots and especially with one only UHS-I, it will heat up quicker than UHS-II and CFexpress. I heard in general CFExpress overall is more reliable and long lasting compared to SD? Would you prefer 1 CFExpress or 2 card slots with SD/micro SD?
I have the same issue with my cameras. When i insert sd card into my camera its stop working and the strong blue light turn into bright blue light. Camera reset doesnt help, class of my cards is 10. Now i have 3 of them wchih doesnt work. One had broke a few days ago, ealier works fine couple months with sd card but some day stop working. Two of them doesnt work with sd card since the beggining.
Hey @Nashi That is a bummer. I am really sorry to hear that your having issues with your SD cards. Please go to www.kamihome.com/contact. They will help get you back on track. It may be the cameras need to be replaced.
I recently bought this micro sd card, and I think I am having trouble formating it. In my mp3 player, it says card error. So I took it to the computer. After clicking on the file icon, I clicked on the memory card. Then, after clicking on it get this error message. Can anyone help me with this problem? Thank you all in your efforts.
I have been using the app for several years with no issues. I use android phones and tablets. Some have 256gb internal memory others have 256gb external micro SD card. I have loaded all of my music on all of them. About 220gb in artist-album-song hierarchy.
@andrewilleyThanks for your swift reply. I followed your instruction and all works as in the past. Only one hiccup was from my own ignorance. When I tried to create a new music folder I found the drive to be write protected. A quick Google and I found out about the switch on micro SD adapter.
