I wonder if it will "coincide" with some very good news from USOP and a proper PR campaign - I have a sneaky suspicion that the delay is related to USOP's delay.

You could be right, there is no way the upgrade is taking this long due to technical issues.  I could have done it 10 times over for them by now ;)  

I can only assume its being "tactically" held back for other reasons.

Certainly sounds feasible if BM feels he owes GXG for relishing us, it could quiet well be GXG upgrade, ADR's, updated CPR and flow test results. Or it could just be an upgrade, as long as we get good flow test results and an good updated CPR. I don't mind if they take their time and get the best results they can.

Cannot see it myself.  There are others who trade on this exchange, we are just another one (may have made them a wee bit more cash, but we don't know the numbers for the others).

I would suggest this is a system upgrade, yes, it has taken a long time but some do not work as fast as others.

Whilst I would love it to tie into a re rate and run I feel it was simply a delay by GXG.

One thing is almost certain though ... on that day the tracker app will stop working!!

I may have to take some time off to work on an update to cope with the GXG changes. With a bit of luck it will be such a good upgrade we won't need it any more.

Just had a reply, It is on track for the upgrade later today after some news feed changes.

I know I have said it already, but my tracker app will almost certainly stop working after the upgrade.  That is the skydrive AND the Twitter feed.  Until I can see the changes and understand if I can rewrite the code to accommodate it, the tracker will likely be off line.  Of Course we may not need it if the upgrade if its really good, but lets see what happens.

EDIT:  Please periodically check the GXG site directly just in case.

As i thought, without any specifics being revealed by anyone a site upgrade is as it say's, a website upgrade, well not even that so far !, bit like expecting Lloyds bank to upgrade their website to accommodate my traffic, call me a cynic, or whatever you like really

How difficult can it be to do a simple upgrade?

I hope they got a good deal with their contractor who based on this performance should be paying them!

It was quite a significant change to the site, but I think a really good one and better than I expected, so well done GXG!

Unfortunately I have been a bit under the weather so not able to look at this immediately.   

Lack of sleep gave me a few hours last night :D and I have cobbled together a quick beta update that I will run today with logging enabled to catch any funny behaviour on either side.  So no promises as there are "always" unexpected things and there "will" be odd scenarios I cannot predict, particularly with so much that has changed.

Lets see how it goes, I need to work today so cannot watch it,  however if anyone spots something weird and can make a note of both sides (skydrive/twitter and GXG) then in combination with my logs it should help me spot what is happening and I can try fixing it at the w/e.

BTW the order book is now shown on skydrive and I will likely add features for tracking changes later, it just depends on time and need.

Looking at the logs and trading today there were definitely a few issues :D.

A couple were mine naturally, however there are some big problems with the new GXG site, from trade ordering to the trade feed going offline and the chart volume indicator resetting to permanent zero!

I have altered and added sections of logic to counter this behaviour, so hopefully it should be more reliable from Monday.

Will check a bit more tomorrow if I have time.

I looked at the tracker at lunchtime and things were not right. On investigation it seems that the volume chart on GXG is broken. It sometimes resets to zero, sometimes random and sometimes double the actual reported trades.

I have sent a mail to GXG to alert them of this problem, but have not heard back yet.

For the moment I will stop using the volume chart for tracking. It was only used as a double check against the trade table anyway in case one of them went down (this happened last week). It cannot be trusted so no point in using it for the moment. In any case I can get everything we need from the other data.

Hopefully things won't look so odd tomorrow. ;)

Funnily enough the Bloomberg chart is correct its just the one on GXG itself that is broken :/  All should be good now on my side though (fingers crossed).

BTW just in case no one noticed, the order book is now on the spreadsheet too.  Its just above the charts if you scroll right.  Same logic as the main part.  BLUE = change.
