The City of Somerville’s Anti-Displacement Task Force (ADTF) hosts a special event on Thursday, June 12th at 6pm at the East Somerville Community School. Please join us as we continue this vital conversation about displacement in our community.
The evening will feature a complimentary dinner, a recorded presentation of key findings from the Residential, Small Business, and Creative Displacement ADTF committees, and a screening of Displacement Stories—a short film commissioned by the Task Force that shares powerful personal stories from Somerville residents impacted by displacement. The event will conclude with a panel discussion, where ADTF members will reflect on their work and the pressing challenges facing our city. Hi Shaun,

I apologize if you found an issue with the Anti-Displacement Task Force event on the USNC listserv. I notified the group about this event because gentrification is on a lot of people's minds. The ADTF was composed of city staff and community members who made recommendations to the City about policies we could adopt to fight residential, small business, and creative displacement. Union Square residents, business owners, and creatives would benefit from knowing about this work as our neighborhood grows up.

The Creative Displacement Committee released a report with many actionable recommendations that could support the creative economy, including an Agent of Change Policy (to protect music and other performance), a Cultural Trust, new funding sources for the arts, and much more!

The special event on Thursday, June 12th at 6pm at the East Somerville Community School which includes dinner, a film, and a panel discussion is free to attend.

All three reports are available on the City of Somerville's website:
https://voice.somervillema.gov/adtf

Have a good day!
Jenn

Just being a wise ass because I’ve received nearly 60 emails since the beginning of the month.  Keep fighting the good fight but It’s a bit overwhelming.
