It’s an exciting time of year — it’s Board Election Season!
There are four (4) seats up for election this year on the Gilman Square Neighborhood Council (GSNC) Board and two (2) youth board seats.The GSNC’s mission is to keep our community informed about local events, opportunities for input, and to gather neighborhood feedback on construction and design projects within our catchment area. When new developments are proposed, we work with developers to establish community benefits agreements that ensure Gilman Square continues to grow as a connected, welcoming, diverse, safe, and sustainable community.
Board Member Expectations
Board members:
· Monthly Board Meeting to coordinate with fellow members
· Support monthly community meetings
· Use their skills and passions to advance GSNC’s mission
· Champion the community’s collective voice and ensure it guides decision-making.
Serving on the Board is a great way to connect with city councilors, elected officials, and city staff who collaborate closely with our community.
Election Timeline
· Nominations Open: Now
· Nominations Close: Midnight, Monday, November 24th
· Candidate Introductions: December GSNC meeting (attendance required for nominees)
· Voting Period: Entire month of December
· New Board Announced: January 2026 GSNC meeting

We encourage participation from all parts of the Gilman Square community — business owners, property owners, renters, and high school students alike.
Eligibility
If you live, work, or study within our catchment area, which includes all areas between Central Street and McGrath Highway, and Highland Avenue to Broadway.
