Hope you are well. I wanted to share an upcoming event sponsored by the Kohala Center with SLIM: a two-day workshop at UHMC in the Pilina Multipurpose Room on Nov. 6 and 7 to train new and seasoned fruit and vegetable growers to meet food-safety standards and the needs of wholesale markets. Please spread the word about this great opportunity for Maui agriculture. For students considering future work in farming, sustainable ag, food co-ops, food innovation and food security, this could be a great workshop to attend. If you think this may be of interest for your past or present students, please share the attached flyer. The cost is $25 per person total including lunch both days and pūpū catered by Whole Foods at the meet-and-greet event on Nov 6. However, they are offering scholarships which could be a great way for students to attend.Register online or by calling The Kohala Center at (808) 887-6411 to inquire about the scholarships.Contact Stella Caban at sca...@kohalacenter.org for more information.
