My organization (a food bank) needs to track time per volunteer. We've been doing it manually from timesheets into a custom Access database for years. We've requested this feature from VSP.  Fingers crossed!

Having this detailed information lets us tell corporations how many volunteers participated and how many hours they gave per person, and in total.  Some of those companies will donate based on those specific hours, or provide grants, so accuracy is important.  We also need to know how much labor we require as an organization, so we convert volunteers to Full-Time- Equivalents.  We have some volunteers that are older and may only stay for half a shift, or others where the shift ends early because of large turnout and really great effort.  Still other volunteers don't have fixed shifts, but come in on their own schedule to attend to their responsibilities.

  • What tools do you use to track time efficiently and accurately?
  • Are there time tracking tools / apps that are compatible with VSP?
  • How do you use your tools, whether VSP compatible or not?
Thanks for any feedback!

It would a great feature to have VSP track time as well.  A system where you can clock-in and clock out and record keeping to track time.  Currently we use another program that a volunteer developed for us... It's okay, but has a few glitches.  It would be amazing to have VSP run a program that tracks time as well.  Fingers crossed also!
