For school Masses during the week, I use teams to schedule 3 servers for the two Masses each week. Works great. Unfortunately, servers on the teams rarely get scheduled on the weekends. As an example, I have one server who serves 4 to 5 times a month during the week (most servers only serve twice during the month on weekends). So my server does not get scheduled on the weekends. Any way to "ignore" the team scheduling so he can serve on the weekends too?

Hi Frank,

Great question! Since teams can be set up either using the auto-scheduler or in a rotation, this is going to depend on your specific setup. As always, feel free to send in your data files (Help - Send Data Files to Tech Support) and we can give you a specific recommendation! But in general...

If your teams are scheduled using the auto-scheduler, you can run the auto-scheduler in passes, first running your weekend services and then your weekday services. Doing this gives you the intended effect of "ignoring" the weekday services to schedule your Altar Servers on the weekends, and then will fill in the weekdays at a later pass. (See Can the auto-scheduler prioritize certain ministries to make sure they are filled first?)

If your teams are set in a rotation, those individuals are placed on the schedule when the schedule is created, so there is not a way to entirely ignore the auto-scheduler. In this case, I recommend either putting those individuals on a preassignment for the weekends at a frequency that you would like, or sending in your files to see how your ministry is set up. For example, we might be able to use or set up autonomous scheduling or ministry specific preferred serving frequency to work in your scenario, depending on how the ministry itself is set up.

I hope this helps, but reach out to support at any time if need more guidance!
