Hello MSP Community!

Next week, a few of us from Ministry Scheduler Pro are exhibiting at the National Association of Pastoral Musicians (NPM) annual convention in Washington, DC, July 20-24. If any musicians in your church community are attending the convention too, please encourage them to say hello! It always brings such joy to meet MSP users in person!

Where you'll find us:
  • Booth #10: Meet Rachael Judd and Krista Kutz, grab a Ghirardelli treat, and pick up MSP swag!
  • Live training: Best Practices for Scheduling Music & Liturgy with Ministry Scheduler Pro on Wed, July 22 at 11:15am.
  • Bonus: We're sponsoring the breakout session All Are Welcome: Building Inclusive Liturgical Ministries for Modern Families, presented by Krista Kutz and Kathleen Basi, on Tues, July 21 at 11:00 am
Music question: Does your church use MSP to schedule cantors and musicians, in addition to other ministries? If so, please chime in with your experiences! 🎶

Hope you're having a great summer!

Sounds cool. We use MSP to make sure choir members aren't scheduled for other ministries when the choir sings. One request I had from choir members is for weekly emails not to go out to them reminding them they are in choir. LOL

We run into a similar situation with adoration.  Adorers have a set weekly schedule, same hour every week.  It would be great to be able to specify no reminder for the week if the only events are repeating events.

That can be easily managed. In the web terminal, you can choose who not to send automatic emails for swap requests or auto reminders. Or in the volunteers profile, use the drop down arrow to uncheck the reminders there. Check the help center for more details.

If you are an Installation Administrator, go to the web terminal for auto reminder emails and select the volunteers you do not want to receive the auto reminders and select "only send auto reminders to these ministries" and select the ones you do want to receive them. If you are a Web Admin, ask your Installation Admin to do this for you.

Thanks! I will play around with this feature this summer.

However I CANNOT request to not remind me ONLY of my repeating adoration assignment(s), but please still remind me of adoration slots I am subbing for.

The issue is getting an email every week when the email only contains repeating assignment(s).  The repeating assignments should be added in addition to any unique assignments for the week, but it would be nice not to get a weekly email if it only contains the repeats.  People tend to start ignoring the email, then miss unique assignment reminders.

We don't use MSP for Adoration. I would reach out to their support team for suggestions, and/or ask about the Unison program that's new. That might work for Adoration I've been told.

It is great for Adoration that does not have fixed weekly adorers.  Better for signups.

We recently transitioned our 24/7 adoration chapel schedule from VSP to Unison.  As far as I know it is going well.  The coordinator has the email reminders set up as follows (in Unison)

Hey Dorothy (and Google Group),

Unison does have the ability to add repeating assignments! If anyone is interested in checking it out, you can do so at unison.io

I personally love how quick and easy it is to set up the first Adoration shift that repeats daily and then use the "duplicate" feature to create the other 23 hourly shifts one hour apart.
