Does anyone use MSP for a Perpetual Adoration Chapel?

If so, how do you schedule 24 time slots x 7 days a week without completely jamming your entire schedule?  Or is there a better way?  We really only need to do this for our 2-3 committed adorers as a way to effectively request substitutes, as well as have hour leads.  The current system isn't working very well.  But I don't know if MSP - as perfect as it would be for requesting subs - is the right solution, given the amount of times I'd have to both add and manage.  Curious if anyone else out there is using it for this (or something similar, like a 24 hour prayer ministry).

Thanks!

We use Volunteer Scheduler Pro for Adoration. Works well and our coordinator manages it easily.

I am not familiar with Volunteer Scheduler Pro.
Is this associated with Ministry Scheduler Pro?

Hey Google Group!

I wanted to pop in here as many of our clients do use Volunteer Scheduler Pro (also by Rotunda Software) to schedule adoration. We have a case study about one church on the site, as well as a video on how to set it up. The good news is, with a few small differences that make Adoration a little easier, it is actually very similar to MSP!

If you are interested in checking it out, there is a 15-day free trial so you can go through the setup process and make sure it will work for you: https://www.volunteerschedulerpro.com/free-trial

If you have any other questions, let me know and I can have one of our reps get in touch!

Yes, same software company, Rotunda, so it is easy for people to learn since many already knew how to use Ministry Scheduler Pro.

We have Adoration from Friday 9AM to Sunday 10AM.  I use MSP so people only have one system to deal with, one place to enter "can't serve" dates, and only one app for me to maintain.  Every hour has a permanent adorer, so I pre-assign those.  I did have to set up every hour initially.  We have a number of subs, so I add the hours they are available and they get the sub requests accordingly.

My biggest complaint is that when scheduling Mass assignments it counts the adoration assignments in the load.  I can filter out viewing the adoration slots when scheduling, but cannot seem to stop a person's assignment counts to ignore Adoration, and I cannot seem to get the system not to complain that a person was scheduled very close to the slot I am filling.  Since Adoration is on the weekends, I always have to deal with the warning message.  Problem is, I ignore the warning if I know someone is an Adorer, and have on occasion double scheduled someone.

I wish there was a way to tell MSP to temporarily completely ignore a ministry, just while I make manual adjustments to a schedule.

I still do not regret setting up Adoration this way.

Thank you for that information, Dorothy.  I am so used to ignoring the "very close" warning at this point with so many of our volunteers pulling double/triple shifts a weekend, that it doesn't even phase me.  But if having those hours on the weekend potentially skewed the distribution of the auto-scheduling, that would be a very big issue.  A lot of the adorers aren't volunteers in the hospitality or liturgy ministries, however (though many of them are).  It's going to be something we need to look into.

I have a request from our religious ed coordinator who wants parents of the children in our CCD program to sign up for helping at Mass in a ministry that we do not regularly schedule (gift bearers).

I have no problem adding this ministry to the schedule and allowing them to volunteer...just wondering if adding all of these families into the system as volunteers and managing that might get cumbersome...is there another way or is this my only option. I would like to have them in MSP in the hopes that they might join other ministries down the line and they would be used to the system...but I don't want to create a monster....

Thanks for any suggestions -
