Hi MSP Community!

Many of us are the “point person” for volunteer scheduling in our churches—but none of us can be available all the time. I’m curious to hear: who steps in to cover scheduling when you’re on vacation or taking time off?

Do you have another staff member or volunteer who knows the ropes, or is that something you’re still working toward?

Sharing who you've tapped as an MSP "backup" (and any tips from your experience setting them up) can give us all ideas for keeping volunteer schedules running smoothly, even when we're away.

Warmly,
Krista

My schedules are done for a couple months at a time. I was away for 2 weeks in August, so I ensured tge schedule went through the end of September.

Also, I have sub requests & signups for empty positions on automatic.

Great question
Since the real work is only four times per year (during schedule creation for the quarter) most of the time I simply watch what is going on with web forms.  And, thanks to the Web Admin function, I can do quickie things on vacation if I have access to a computer and internet.  All the swap requests and accepts are all on automatic.

But I don't have a "backup" installation admin - only someone else who knows the password but couldn't take over for me.  My ministry leaders can handle any particular scheduling problem without me.  I know that is a big hole but it's not filled right now.
