Hello MSP Community!

Today, on this National Day of Service in honor of Dr. King, I'm reflecting on all the ways volunteers make a difference in our church communities.

Each of us in this group uses MSP to organize volunteers for our Sunday ministries. In addition, we know there's so much good work happening at church every day/night of the week! We’d love to learn how volunteers are organized for other events and activities in your community. We're curious to hear:
  • What are the most common volunteer opportunities at your church, outside of Sunday services? (For example, at my parish, events like the annual picnic and Lenten Fish Fry always need volunteers.) 🤝🏽
  • How does your parish get volunteers signed up for those events? What tools do you use besides MSP? 📋
Your insights are so meaningful for our team, and will help us all make an even bigger impact in our church communities through volunteering.

Looking forward to hearing from you!

Warmly,
Krista

We are now using MSP to schedule our volunteers who go to Nursing Homes on Sunday to conduct a Communion Service and distribute Communion.

We do a Lenten Fish Fry so I have that set up as a service time that I make active/inactive for the Lenten calendar time.

Before the pandemic, we had Child Development Center activities that were set up as ministries (CDC - Bible Reading, CDC - Rock Babies, etc.) - they have not been made active yet, but I still have it set up.

I also use the free Signup Genius app for some of our events or projects.
