I've created a new, one-time service. It's a funeral. The service includes 2 Reader (Lector) positions. The service, with the two "NOT FILLED" positions, is now visible on the live calendar.

I want to send email only to Readers, asking for volunteers to serve at the funeral. I want the email to contain links to those two reader positions on that specific date.

I know how to send an email only to Readers.

What I can't figure out is how to create a token that will display links only for those two reader positions in that single one-time service.

I can modify the {{all available positions}} token, and that would, indeed, narrow the window to those two positions at that single service. But it also would do the same thing everywhere else the {{all available positions}} token is used anywhere in the Web Terminal.

Alternatively, I can simply use the email to instruct readers to log in to their MSP account, open the schedule, scroll to the date of the funeral, and hit the "volunteer now" link. What I'm trying to do is make it possible for them to hit the volunteer for that specific role in a special service directly from their email.

I'm not finding anything like this in the MSP documentation. Apologies if I've simply overlooked it.

Hey Jeff,

Thanks for reaching out about this! You are correct that if you edit the token in the Token Options of the Web Terminal pane, it will affect everywhere the token is used, but we have a solution for that!

  1. Compose your email that includes the All Available Position token
  2. Click the PREVIEW button
  3. The next window will say Token Options: this is where you can adjust the token options and it will only apply to this one email (not the entire database)

  4. Click OK to preview and check that the correct services are included
  5. Once you are happy with the email, click SEND
If you need any additional help, please don't hesitate to send in your data files (Help - Send Data Files to Tech Support)!

Ooh! That's what I needed, thanks. Apparently I didn't detect a way to drill into token options in the documentation. Thanks for the info!
