Hi MSP Community!
The new year is a great time to onboard new volunteers to MSP, so I wanted to share something that’s worked well at my church!
Every few months, I set up a help station with my laptop after Sunday services and invite volunteers to stop by with any MSP questions—whether it’s adding Can't Serve Dates or logging into the MSP app or Web Terminal. I call it "Log in Sunday"! Doing this quarterly helps my parish ensure everyone's profiles are up-to-date when it's time to commence scheduling. Plus, it's a nice way to connect with new volunteers and put faces with names!
If you’d like to try something similar, here are a few quick tips (and I'd love to hear yours too!): Host a "Log in Sunday" to help new and returning volunteers get comfortable using MSP. If your church has fellowship time over coffee & donuts, that's a great place to set up!
Print this new Ask Me About MSP sign—you can frame it on a table so volunteers know you're here to help!
Question for you: How do you onboard new volunteers to MSP? Do you include it in ministry training, or handle it separately? Would love to hear what works for you!
Warmly,
Krista

PS: The National Association for Lay Ministry is running a survey to better understand and support lay leaders in Catholic parishes, dioceses, and ministries. Anyone involved in lay ministry (paid or volunteer, active or retired) is invited to participate, so I wanted to pass along here for those interested: https://www.nalm.org/
