QUIKLINE: A problem solved?
In a not-too-distant future—like next year—we’ve solved the homeless problem, or so it seems. The Rectification Act trains homeless people for jobs in the homes of the rich (but you have to stay in the program). Fast forward 20 years, where two new program members are placed in the home of a well-meaning philanthropist, who then asks them to take part in a little psychiatric experiment. Do we need to say that this little experiment could mess up the lives of the formerly homeless? Kathleen Akerley’s world premiere for Sideshow Theatre Company (which she is directing with company member Megan Smith, with company member Karie Miller featured) is a cautionary tale that even the best intentions don’t always work out. More info at www.sideshowtheatre.org. (Approx. running time: 2:15 w/intermission.)
