Ushahidi and Northwestern's Circumnavigators Grant

Greetings from Chicago. My name is Kevin Short, an undergraduate at
Northwestern University studying journalism and international studies.
I'm currently applying for the school's annual Circumnavigators Grant-
a remarkable opportunity to conduct an international research project
in 6 countries over the summer of 2012. I've been fascinated by the
role of digital technologies in international development and plan to
investigate how these tech innovations are transforming government
accountability, civic engagement, and public discourse. I believe
that Ushahidi and Crowdmap are beacons of this trend and investigating
their applications in a local-context would be invaluable to my
research.

If anyone here knows about an organization or group that will be using
Ushahidi software/digital tools during the summer months of 2012 and
would be receptive to a student shadowing them for a week or two,
please let me know! It would really assist me.
