SKATS, the MPO for the Salem-Keizer (OR) urban area, is accepting
applications for a Transportation Modeler/Associate Planner. Tasks
include, but are not limited to, maintaining, enhancing and applying the
regional travel demand forecasting model.

One position is available, and will be filled at the appropriate level
depending on the qualifications and experience of the selected
applicant.

Transportation Modeler - The applicant should have 2 to 4 years of
relevant experience. Preference is for a Masters Degree in
transportation modeling, engineering or a related field. Experience is
desired in the areas of travel demand modeling, with additional
experience in any of the following areas as beneficial: survey methods,
databases, computer programming, or GIS.

Associate Planner - The applicant should have 0 to 2 years of relevant
experience. Preference is for a Masters Degree in transportation
modeling, engineering or a related field. Experience is desired in the
areas of travel demand modeling, with additional experience in any of
the following areas as beneficial: survey methods, databases, computer
programming, or GIS.

In addition, candidates at either level must possess knowledge of
transportation planning processes, policies, and principles; travel
demand forecast theory and practice; transportation planning data
sources and their proper application. They should also have excellent
writing and presentation skills, and the ability to present complex
information in an easy-to-understand manner to the public and policy
groups.

The salary range is $42,900 - $62,000 DOQ/DOE, plus an excellent
benefits package.
