SENIOR TRANSPORTATION MODELER - Play a leading technical role at the
Denver Regional Council of Governments in the heart of the Rocky
Mountain Region, operating a fully-automated, TransCAD-based travel
model, and participating in the development of a leading edge integrated
regional modeling system, including an activity/tour-based travel model
and UrbanSIM-based socioeconomic model. The Denver region is developing
rapidly, and our recently approved transit sales tax will fund the
largest rapid transit system expansion in the US. The successful
candidate will have a strong technical orientation and background,
including computer programming skills (VB, Java, C++ or similar),
database programming, and mathematics (calculus, statistics, etc.), and
a strong knowledge of regional modeling and transportation planning.
Experience with TransCAD and the GISDK scripting language, and with GIS
software is preferred. MS/MA in transportation engineering, urban

intermediate curriculum in travel modeling theory and practice is
preferred, together with three years of travel modeling experience, or
equivalent combination of education and experience. Monthly salary
range is $4,187 - $5,125/month depending on experience, plus excellent
