Briefs on the VCs Visit to UPM

Good day All,

As you are all aware, the VC of Unimaid and entourage visited UPM earlier this week.

There was an interactive session with Unimaid Scholars on Tuesday where various issues were discussed and clarified. Amongst the issues were hardships faced by students due to the economic downturn, delay in payments of Tetfund, delay of students by supervisors an

​​

d other pertinent comments on how to move the University forward.

The VC responded to each question,observations and comments. On Tetfund, he stated that the change in the Tetfund leadership was responsible for a halt in the disbursement, on the issue of staff return tickets, he stated that staffs abuse the tickets as they return home before completion and request for another return upon completion, thus it will not be revised. He noted suggestions pertaining to the university's progress and affirmed things will change in the near future.

Other members of the entourage also reacted to comments pertaining to the university ICT, collaborative research and supervision with UPM, amongst other things.

The VC made a generous donation of $ 2,000 to the

​USFM.

On Wednesday, the entourage had a meeting with the UPM administration. This was followed by visits to faculties of agriculture,

eterinary medicine and

​E​

ngineering. The VC and his entourage

​went to Kelantan on Friday, 23rd Septemberon invitation by Universiti Malaysia Kelantan to attend their convocation ceremony.

The entourage arrived KLIA international airport and departed for Nigeria on the same day. They have safely arrived and are in Maiduguri now.
