Good Day All,

We will like to thank you all for finding us worthy to lead this esteemed forum. We also wish to use this medium to express our sincere gratitude to the entire members of USFM. 

In this regard, we like to draw your attention that we are not by any capacity beyond any one of you in this forum and perhaps we are all equal and we just accepted the post to serve as your messenger. We the SELECTED bodies will not place our personal interest in all our dealings as far as this forum is the concern. Our watchword is "TOGETHERNESS" "SCHORLASHIP" and "UPLIFTING UNIMAID IN TERMS OF RESEARCH". We, therefore, call on all present and past USFM scholars to always feel free to guide, direct and even query our wrong doings. Our doors are always open to critique, criticism, and pieces of advice. 

Our policy trust is simple and it is in our collective interest. this may include the following:

1.  To administratively pursue our rights and privileges.
   
2.  To help one another.
   
3.  To encourage research and scholarship.
   
4.  To facilitate admission to our colleagues who are willing to come to Malaysia for their graduate studies.
   
5.  The establish a cordial relationship with the university administration.
   
6.  To liaise with the management of university of Maiduguri in extending research and new innovations.
   
7.  To register a consultancy firm that is capable of organizing seminars, workshops, talks, symposium, and conferences related to social, economic, political, and academic issues in our country Nigeria.
   
8.  To form a team of scholars to organized seminars, workshops, and conferences back home.
   
9.  To liaise with our senior colleagues in carrying out our duties.
   
10.  To extend our hands of goodwill to other Unimaid scholars at home and abroad. 
    

The above could be achieved, only if we work as a team and not for material/single purposes eg. "TETFUND" because if the above mentioned goes as plan, we will generate revenue that can sponsor us in the course of pursuing our career. We, therefore, suggesst that we should have a census of existing scholars and our Alumni who are already on the ground to help us achieve our goals.

 

Furthermore, the immediate past leadership did a meritorious and wonderful job by uplifting this forum to a greater high. The selfless services rendered by these individuals is worthy of recommendation and we will forever remain grateful to you for the selfless services. It is also worthy to mention that the former leadership has successfully hosted the Vice Chancellor and his entourage twice and this have accorded us a prestige, best regard, and positive recommendations by both the Current and past vice chancellors of our great university. As you successfully completed your studies, we will like to wish you success in all your future dealings.

Our sincere congratulations also go to those who have successfully defended their viva voce and graduates, may almighty Allah bless your degrees and serve as a yardstick for bringing succor to the entire humanity. We wish to also pray for the scholars who are currently undergoing their Master/Doctorate under this economic hardship to complete our programs in peace.

Finally, we pray that Allah will grant us the will and courage to lead this forum in a successful manner.

Thank you for the well wishes and the inquiry. Actually there is no constitution or any document to that effect. The forum initially started as an ad-hoc gathering which later graduated to excos and this online platform. The goal was to have an umbrella body were all Unmaid staff can be carried along in order to pursue matters of common interest.

But depending on how members want it to be, the forum can graduate into an association which can then develop a constitution e.t.c.

Does this body have a laid down constitution in whatever form?.

If yes, could you please upload the document for members to download, peruse and live by the the detects of the constitution.

Its been a while we haven't communicated on this platform. Hope you are all doing well in your respective studies.

As you all know,  i requested for nominations from the house last year in order to fill up the positions of the Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer.

Since a defined tenure term has not been agreed upon for selected  USFM exco members, exco members are expected to advertise/seek nominations and hand over to new exco (s) before their departure in order to avoid a vacuum.

Based on the nominations recieved, The following persons were selected to head the forum for the next year(s). 

1-Chairman-------------------- Babakura Mamman

2-Secretary------------------D R Idris Umar Hambali

3-Treasurer------------------- Maria Salihu

These persons will run the affairs of the forum from henceforth. I will transfer the operations of the google group to the Chairman so that he can add new members and send relevant communications.

Congratulations to you all and i wish you the best in discharging your duties.

The economic hardships have seriously deterred Unimaid scholars from coming to Malaysia. However, i learnt a few will be coming in Sep

 for bench work under the non-graduating program.

It has been my honor and pleasure to serve USFM under the capacity of Secretary General for the past 3 years. I wish you all the very best in your studies and future endeavors.

With respect to our earlier notice on the arrival of members from the University of Maiduguri , information reaching us therefore suggests that:

1.       The visitors are expected to arrive Malaysia on the 24^th of April at about evening time(5-6 pm).

2.       They will proceed immediately upon arrival to Kelantan via the local wing of the airport.

3.       The visit this time around is a follow up on some of the proposed inter-university activities and therefore perceived as a low key visitation.

4.       The team is comprised of a DVC, TETFUND DO, DEANs of faculties of VET,AGRIC and ENGINEERING .

 

We therefore wish them a safe trip as we encourage USFM members to come out and  give them a rousing welcome at the airport.
