SBA Announcements:
1. SBA ELECTION THIS WEEK: The SBA Election will be held this week (April 2nd - April 4th). All currently registered students (1Ls, 2Ls, 3Ls and 4Ls) may vote. Polls will be open in the Kendrick Hall Rotunda April 2nd (10:00 am - 6:30 pm); April 3rd (10:00 am - 8:30 pm); and April 4th (10:00 am - 6:30 pm). Winners will be announced on Friday, April 5th. At the forum students will have an opportunity to express their views and rank the candidates in order of preference. 4. Welcome Reception for Professor Meyer, Hamill Fellow

Please join the Faculty Appointment’s Committee and the Student Bar Association for a special reception welcoming Professor Meyer, the new Hamill Clinical Teaching Fellow for the Criminal and Juvenile Justice Law Clinic. We will be having a Q&A session, followed by a reception on Tuesday, April 2nd, 2013 at 5:00pm in the Terrace Room. During the Q&A, Professor Meyer will discuss his background with Criminal Law, his experience as a student at USF, his research, and his vision in the role as the Hamill Fellow.

8. "Framing the Conversation" with Dr. Tracy Weitz

Come hear the
amazing and dynamic Dr. Tracy Weitz talk about the Reproductive Justice
movement on Tuesday, April 2 at 12:30 in room 100! Dr. Weitz will discuss where
the RJ movement has been, where we are going, and most importantly, where we
want to go. She gives powerful insight onto how any social justice movement
should self-reflect and change in order to achieve its goals. This talk is
pertinent to any social justice issue. FOOD PROVIDED!
Tracy Weitz, PhD, MPA, is the Director of the Advancing New Standards in
Reproductive Health (ANSIRH), Bixby Center for Global Reproductive Health,
University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). She is also a partner in the
CoreAlign Initiative which is building a network of leaders working
innovatively to change policies, culture and conditions that support all
people's sexual and reproductive decisions. An Associate Professor in the Department
of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences, she designs and undertakes
mixed methods research that focuses on innovative strategies to expand abortion
provision in the U.S. She serves on the boards of the American Civil Liberties
Union of Northern California, Breast Cancer Action (chair), and the Society of
Family Planning. From 2006-2010, she served as an appointed member of the
Women's Health Council, an advisory body to the California Departments of
Health Care Services and Public Health. In 2009, she received the Felicia
Stewart award from Population, Family Planning and Reproductive Health section
of the American Public Health Association and in 2012 was awarded the UCSF
Academic Senate Distinction in Mentoring Award.

Are you a 1L, 2L or PT 3L who is interested
in applying to be a Case Counsel or Moot Court Team Member?
Case Counsel
provide guidance and support to 1Ls in the First Year Moot Court Program.
Case Counsel write the 1L Moot Court problem and bench memo. Moot Court
Team Members represent USF and compete against other schools in Mock Trials and
Appellate Arguments. Both Case Counsel and Moot Court Team Members
possess exceptional research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
