Question re Available Speeds

On the new modem bank is there a minimum connect speed?

I had occasion to use a backup machine today and could not connect at
9600 or any lower speed. The same modem talks to Concentric at 9600.

Others are having successful connections using 2400 buad modems...so 9600
should not be a problem. However, we have verified that the new modems do not
include every error correction protocol (some of the non-standard little
implemented protocols were left out of the configuration). We have contacted
the manufacturer and they are investigating a solution to that problem.

Can you tell me the brand of your 9600 modem? Do you know if it supports
error correction (and maybe what protocol it uses for it)? It wouldn't
happen to be an external would it?
