Spring Justice Bus™ Trip to Monterey!
March 11-12, 2011
Sign-up Begins February 15th at 5:00 pm

The lack of legal resources for low-income rural Californians is
alarming. For rural low-income people, finding legal help is extremely
difficult, and rural legal organizations are overtaxed and
underfunded. The Justice Bus™ Project directly addresses the urgent
need for legal services in rural California by taking urban law
students to rural areas to work at legal clinics.

As part of the REAL Project, PIC coordinates Justice Bus Trips, which
take urban law students to underserved rural communities in California
to work at free legal clinics and at court-based programs.

On March 11-12, 2011, ten USF law students will travel to Monterey
County to work with California Rural Legal Assistance (CRLA). This
will be our first field monitoring trip working with migrant farm
workers. Students will also have an opportunity to help rural low-
income clients with housing, employment, and education law issues
during the trip!

Substantive and skills based trainings will be provided.

This overnight trip is NO cost to law students (rooming, food &
transportation included! The trips are open to all USF law students,
including 1Ls; however, all participants must be matriculating USF
School of Law students in good academic standing. By signing-up for
this trip, you authorize PIC to access your academic standing with the
law school.

Sign-up begins on Tuesday, February 15, 2011 at 5:00 pm. Sign-up is on
a first-email basis, but preference will be given to students who have
not previously participated in an overnight trip and/or have language
abilities. To enroll, please email Doan at dng...@pic.org and include
your full name, class year, and foreign language abilities.
