Hey Jenny:
We're supposed to read the Casa Amiga case study (in course documents--if you can't find it I can scan and send to you) and write a 2 page double spaced memo from the perspective of a mediation team sent into Juarez by the Mexican federal gov't. We're supposed to construct a basic synopsis of the problem, and try to have a solution that would address the needs of all the stakeholders-ie, victims' and their families, business people in the community, politicians, etc. Prof Pettey gave us what she called "Keys to the Case":
*Align different views from different constituencies--find consensus
*What are the key issues
*Stakeholder identification
*Negotation
Not sure how those are keys....but...
It's due via email to Janice Pettey at
janice...@mac.com, PRIOR to class on Tuesday (11/2). We're also supposed to have read chapters 1, 2 & 10. She's also got an article listed in the syllabus ("Six Trends Transforming Gov't"), but I don't remember her giving it to us or pointing us to it on-line....so I'm not going to bother with that part!
I think Dr. Hudson and a couple of her students are coming to give us a presentation during class...
