We've been contacted by new players (never having played in any of our leagues before) asking if they can be notified when a league registration opens.  We do send out email blasts notifying our members of registration openings, but these new players will not be on any of our mailing lists.  It would be really neat if a player could "subscribe" to a league, and then get an email notification when registration opened.  Is this something that might be possible in the future?  Or perhaps some other way to get event-specific notifications?

We just have prospective players register with our version of the Topscore site and then send out an all player email. It works as many of the persons who have asked about information did register with out SL.

Alex filed this but never emailed. Definitely something we think would be a good idea and that we will look to add in the future. Thanks for the suggestion Bulb.

Yeah I'm running in to this issue right now with leagues that tend to fill up fast. And since we don't always know all of the leagues that are going to be created (draft / core, etc) we could have someone subscribe to a "place" and a season. They could get all notifications related to philadelphia and winter.

What if an event is upcoming and registration isn't open, it allows you to subscribe, which would then be treated by the system as an "incomplete" registration (or possibly it's own state, "subscribed" or "interested")?
