Option to make a "bonus contribution" at checking during League Sign Up

Hey folks,

I haven't been onto our site for awhile since we have been in our off season, but last year we had many of our "more affluent" league members express a willingness to pay more than the stated entry free when signing up for a league.  Having an option for this would be a huge boon to our organization, as it would allow us to keep our entry fees as low as possible yet allow us to quickly and easily receive additional funds from those players with deep pockets and generosity to spare.

Ideally, I would love to have a blank field at the checkout screen that allows people signing up for a league to pay an additional amount on top of the standard entry fee.  Whatever dollar amount the player enters in the "bonus payment" field would then be added to the total entry fee amount so it all goes through in one transaction.  I feel this would work better than a series of set options for additional amounts to pay, because you know, we have some doctors and lawyers in our league who wouldn't blink an eye at dropping an extra $50-100 or more if it was painless and taken care of along with their sign up, all in one step.  

Is something like this possible at the moment?  If not, how do other orgs feel about something like this?  I would expect to that most other organizations would be able to benefit from an easy way for members to make bonus payments on top of the base event entry fees, but I have been wrong before.

PADA already has something like this set up on our TopScore site.  We have created "Product Add-ons" that are essentially donations at specific levels.  Coordinators just need to remember to add them to each league.  (Though it would be great if we could have certain products offered for all events by default!)

TFDA would also be VERY interested in the blank/donor-specified amount field for a donation add-on during event registration.  

We currently add a variety of donation add-ons (anywhere from $2 to cover processing fees to $100) in the registration settings for all events. While it's nice that multiple can be checked off (combined to show even greater levels of generosity), it would definitely make sense to let the donor decide how much they want to give.

We really want to do this. Unfortunately, our calendar is looking quite full in the short-term. Don't let us forget!

The suggestion of denominated contributions via product add-ons is an excellent solution in the interim.

It is unfortunate that your schedule is so full, as we are looking to open our Summer League registration shortly, but the denominated contribution idea will probably hold me over until then.

It would also be rather nice icing on the cake of this option would include a checkbox indicating whether the person would like their bonus contribution to be anonymous or not.  Or maybe a set of radio buttons with the option to go fully anonymous, indicate donation was made but not the dollar amount, or full disclosure.  Because some people can get weird about letting other people know how much extra they are contributing.

A big plus one to this feature request! 

We're running a charity tournament in about a month's time, and would love, love, LOVE to have a field where people could type in a custom dollar amount for their contribution! The denomination idea will certainly hold us over, but yeah, custom amounts would be amazing!
