What the hell is going on with this "service"?

I posted an inquiry this evening to the 24 hour support newgroup. First off, I
have to post it three times. The first two times I posted it and went to check
it out, it showed as "This post no longer available". A few hours later, I go to
see if there are any replies. Of six replies, all posted in the last few hours,
all but one said the same thing, "This post no longer available". So I lost five
possible useful replies to my question. Can't Usenetserver provide reliable
service? It's bad enough that even with Optimum Boost and download speeds of
22Mbps and higher according to speedtest.net, I still have shitty download
speeds through Usenetserver. I don;t even know if this will actually be posted
or if it wiill show up immediately as no longer available. What the hell am I
paying for?

With regards to the missing posts, we did experience some issues yet
again this weekend. Our admins were aware and are still working on a
fix so that does not become a permanent issue on weekends.

With regards to your speeds, have you been able to change ports to see
if an alternate port helps in the event there is traffic shaping on the
port you currently use? Our port options are:

119 (default), 20, 23, 25, 3128, 7000 (routing port), 8000 (routing
port) and 9000 (routing port).

If you continue to have speed issues, send a reverse trace to
sup...@usenetserver.com.

In your newsreader's settings area, you should see a port section where
you can input a port. If you can't find it, we can try to help. What
newsreader are you using.....I assume Agent judging from your header,
but want to be sure.

Agent 2.0. An older version but I bought the newer version and don't like it so
I stayed with this one.

In Agent, you should be able to go to Tools | Servers and Accounts (this
may vary slightly as I have not interfaced with 2.0 in many years).

You should see an area with a port text field. You can put in a new port
and save the changes.

If you have any problems, please let us know.

Thanks for the info. I wasn't sure if 2.0 was using the .ini file
method still. To the OP, you can open the agent.ini file with Notepad
and edit the NNTPPort line as suggested above.
